Leica StereoZoom 6 Photo and StereoZoom 7

High performance documentation stereomicroscopes from Leica provide reliable, easy methods for recording critical information. Designed to accommodate 35mm, Polaroid, large film or video formats, Leica's StereoZoom documentation stereomicroscopes assure accurate, reliable records for applications where high resolution, superior color and superb contrast are necessary. From failure analysis to laboratory research and teaching, Leica's documentation stereomicroscopes keep a critical eye on critical inspection.

StereoZoom 6 Photo and StereoZoom 7 stereomicroscopes provide high resolution, high magnification and high contrast quality images. These instruments are constructed of high quality optics and a diecast body. Their Greenough Optical design provides observational capabilities with extremely high resolution without distortion or aberrations. The optics allow the image to travel through the center of each of two sets of lenses in the binocular system resulting in a sharper image.

Adding a film or CCTV system does not detract from the high quality and sensitivity to detail. These extremely stable stereomicroscopes are designed for years of rugged use in multipurpose environments. Their image clarity is reproduced vividly on film or a video monitor.

Objective and zoom optical elements of StereoZoom 6 Photo and StereoZoom 7 stereomicroscopes are sealed in compact units called power pods. These power pods gather a large volume of light to insure a high-resolution image with every use. The eyepieces further magnify the image, transferred by the precision optics through the eyetubes. The right fixed and left focusable interlocked eyepieces assure parfocality. From initial setup through the entire inspection process, the focus remains constant until the operator changes it.

Resolve More Detail, Document Precisely

Manufactures are working to closer tolerances and with smaller components smaller fibers and tougher synthetics. Particularly suited for the microelectronics industry where wide fields of view are a distinct advantage, StereoZoom 6 Photo and StereoZoom 7 stereomicroscopes accomplish critical inspections without sacrificing production speed or quality.

StereoZoom 6 Photo

Proven Design, Reliable Results

StereoZoom 6 Photo provides users with great depth and an extra-wide field of view. Used with a camera, it provides a method to make permanent, photographic records. The built-in beam splitter directs 20% of the available light to the photoport for CCTV or the camera system and 80% to the operator. The StereoZoom 6 Photo's specimen field is over 200% larger than other photographic stereomicroscopes. Depth of field is so much greater that the addition of a light robbing aperture diaphragm is not necessary.

StereoZoom 6 Photo features two unique Leica systems: the Balanced Visual Response (BVR) optical system and InstaZoom.

BVR optics match the color sensitivity of the human eye to produce true color, crisp blacks and whites and sharp contrast. Such optical performance is extremely important in failure analysis when documentation must be clear and accurate.

InstaZoom makes it possible to zoom through the entire magnification range from low to high by turning the control knob less than one-third-of-a-turn. The large, conveniently side-mounted zoom control knob limits the risk of disturbing the specimen or attached photo equipment. InstaZoom also reduces fatigue while increasing productivity.

StereoZoom 6 Photo features a special camera port for photodocumentation allowing simultaneous viewing and photography while images remain in continuous focus. This allows microscopic tasks or inspections while documenting or displaying them on a monitor for training purposes. The magnification zoom control exactly frames the specific area to be photographed. The StereoZoom 6 Photo also offers the same ultra wide 10X eyepieces as the StereoZoom 6 Plus.

StereoZoom 7

Magnifies the Smallest Detail

The StereoZoom 7 stereomicroscope detects flaws that would be invisible with a conventional stereomicroscope. This high magnification, high performance instrument is the perfect choice for visualizing the ever smaller geometries of today's semiconductor devices and electronic components.

StereoZoom 7 offers extraordinarily high resolution. Its variable magnification provides tremendous viewing flexibility for both standard integrated circuit inspection and more detailed mask or circuit analysis. A generous field of view permits inspection of up to 80mm of surface area while the wide depth of field allows viewing into a sample on the Z-axis. Images are continuously in sharp focus through the entire zoom range... even when using a camera of CCTV attachment.

StereoZoom 7 provides optimum light to the photo system for specimen viewing or photomicrography. The unique coaxial illuminator permits shadowless illumination of images. This makes StereoZoom 7 ideal for inspection flat, highly reflective samples such as silicon wafers.

Like other Leica StereoZoom stereomicroscopes, StereoZoom 7 objectives and optical elements are sealed in a power pod. The power pod may be turned 180 degrees for conventional or reversed eyepiece orientation. It can easily be positioned on any Leica bench-top stand or the versatile Flex-Arm stand. Eyepieces are angled 45 degrees from vertical for comfortable, fatigue-free viewing.

CCTV

StereoZoom 6 Photo and StereoZoom 7 stereomicroscopes adapt easily for use with CCTV. A video camera can be attached to the microscope's photo port using a standard adapter. Adding video capabilities to the stereomicroscope documentation system permits increased opportunities for group viewing or consultations. The addition of a video printer further enhances the system for applications requiring immediate documentation. CCTV interfaced is also becoming increasingly important as the requirement for image analysis increases.

PhotoStar Automatic Photo Controllers

Microprocessor-controlled PhotoStar and PhotoStar II Automatic Photo Controller systems insure easy operation and reproducible photomicrographic results. These systems are designed for applications ranging from routine photodocumentation to advanced photomicrography. The PhotoStar Automatic Photo Controller permits observation of six functions on the LED display at the top of the control panel. The are: film speed (ASA or DIN), exposure time (minute or seconds), camera format, reciprocity setting, time factor and frame number.

PhotoStar II's illuminated LCD makes it easy to read and control brightness and contrast. A two-button menu-driven control provides easy operation; the built-in "Help" menu assists the user through each phase of operation, if necessary. Audible, manual and laps time settings for customized modes of operation are standard features. Standard or customized ASA values for routine or special filmsettings can easily be programmed into the controller. A memory status display permits a user access to current or previous settings. PhotoStar II is also equipped with battery back up for memory retention in case of power failure.
